Accreditation Programs in Lifestyle Medicine by ELMO

Lifestyle Medicine focuses on evidence-based holistic healthcare for chronic patients, with a growing number of initiatives in consultations and clinics.

Establishing a true Lifestyle Medicine institution requires specific criteria. The European Lifestyle Medicine Organization (ELMO), under the guidance of renowned author Professor Jeffrey Mechanick, has defined accreditation standards for such centers in the chapter: “Accreditation Programs in Lifestyle Medicine: New Survey Data and a Proposed European Model” of the brand-new book “Lifestyle Medicine, Closing Research, Practice, and Knowledge Gaps” from the publications Springer Nature (April 2025 edition)

The team of the chapter authors includes ELMO President Ioannis Arkadianos (Greece), ELMO Vice President Ioan Hanes (Belgium) , ELMO Secretary General Anca Hancu (Romania), and Prof. Carlos Van Mieghem (Belgium).
